Thomas Muller should remain at Bayern Munich for the rest of his career and avoid any temptation to join Manchester United, according to club legend Lothar Matthaus.
The German forward was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer, with the Red Devils reportedly prepared to break the bank to bring him to the Premier League.
However, Matthaus thinks Muller would be making a mistake if he moved to the Premier League and has advised the 26-year-old to spend his entire career with Bayern.
“He does not need Manchester United or Chelsea,” Matthaus told Bild.
“Barcelona perhaps could use him, but I do not know whether he can deal with their game.
“My opinion is he should definitely stay at Bayern for his lifetime.
“He started his professional career at Bayern and I think he should end his career here. He does not need any new challenge as he is always playing at the highest level every year at Bayern.”
